La Torretta had been uninhabited for more than 40 years and was completely derelict when I purchased it in 2002. Andrea Christofanelli became the project manager and late in 2003 work commenced.
No renovation as complete as the one undertaken by Andrea and his team will ever be hassle free including the submission of building plans and negotiations with the local council but Andreas dedication to making sure that all of the problems with the planning process, the building works, the taxes and provision of the utilities proved to me that as an absentee owner, it would have been almost impossible to complete such a project without his help and advice.
Andreas skill in sourcing and selecting local craftsmen and materials, many of which are recycled has given La Torretta an ambience that is totally in keeping with the local environment and his attention to detail, specifically the external appearance which is so important to the preservation of the character of The Marche is second to none. Andrea has also provided much follow-up help with garden design and execution as well as the management of the various contractors necessary to maintain everything in good order.
